We regret to announce the passing of Michel Brugière on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Michel meant a great deal to MdM, and the feeling was undoubtedly mutual.
A country doctor in the Cantal region, he quickly decided to join MdM, a commitment that lasted more than 25 years!
His involvement took many forms since 1989: coordinator in Mali, first Director of Operations (France and International), and Executive Director for 17 years. Starting in 2010, he remained deeply involved in the organization as a mission leader and was very active within the Africa group.
Michel played a pivotal role in MdM’s development, always remaining attentive and caring toward the teams.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, as well as with all of you who knew him well and who have lost a friend. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us; they will be passed on to his family and loved ones.
The funeral is for family members only. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 9, starting at 6 p.m. on the Péniche Babour in Parc de la Villette (59 Boulevard Macdonald
75019), where you are welcome to share your stories, memories, photos, and videos.
