Today, I want to pay tribute to the committed, deeply compassionate, and sincere man that he
was.

Laurent was one of those rare individuals who command respect not through status or
grand speeches, but through their simplicity, their willingness to listen, and their presence in the lives of others.

We shared a commitment to activism within the Latin America and Caribbean group at
Médecins du Monde, driven by the same determination to defend dignity and the right to health for
everyone.

Laurent embodied this commitment with consistency and generosity. As a young doctor, he possessed that
essential quality: remaining approachable and humble, always attentive to those around him. He carried
his convictions with genuine strength, through action more than words.

I particularly remember his attachment to Latin America and his involvement in
the mission in Colombia. He had chosen to go out into the field, as close as possible to the teams, not
to observe from afar, but to listen, understand, and share in their experiences and their
daily realities.

This approach spoke volumes about him: a genuine desire to be in
human contact, through concrete solidarity rather than from a distance.
Laurent is remembered as a deeply kind, committed, and fraternal man. His passing
leaves a great void, but also a lasting mark on our lives as activists and as human beings.

Today, our thoughts are with his family—his wife Geraldine and his children—and with all those
who worked alongside him, stood up for what they believed in, and walked part of the way with him.
Thank you, Laurent, for your kindness, your dedication, and your presence among us.
We will never forget you.
